There’s nothing like coming in from the cold to a warm room packed with people eating pizza.

Two recent trips to OTTO in Portsmouth gave Our Gourmet teams the chance to sample not just pizza, but appetizers, an Italian sub and mocktails at this Portland, Maine-based chain.

There’s been a lot of buzz about OTTO since franchisee Alex Budd opened one in Exeter in 2022, followed in 2023 by the restaurant we visited in Portsmouth’s Frank Jones 1884 House. Budd, known for his connection to Joe’s NY Pizza in Portsmouth, is also the license manager for an OTTO due to open soon in Dover.
