Cinco’s Cantina Donates Gift Cards to NICU Families
Cinco’s Cantina is proud to support local families by donating several gift cards to NICU families at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital. The donation was made in partnership with A Little Pep, a charitable organization dedicated to spreading smiles and comforting families with children in neonatal intensive care.
This heartfelt contribution aims to offer a small moment of relief and joy to families navigating challenging times. Little Pep collects gift cards from local restaurants like Cinco’s Cantina, allowing families to enjoy a warm meal and a break from the hospital setting.
“Two of my children spent time in the NICU, and I remember how overwhelming and emotional that experience can be,” said Erin Tellez, Business and Finance Manager, Cinco’s Cantina. “Supporting Little Pep is our way of giving a little comfort to families going through the same journey.”
A Lil Pep is a grassroots charitable initiative started by The Pepler Family, who spent extended time in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital with both of their children. After experiencing the emotional toll of long hospital stays, a small gesture—a brief meal break at a local restaurant—offered a moment of relief and perspective during one of the most stressful times of their lives. That moment inspired the Peplers to pay it forward by coordinating gift card donations for NICU families at Wentworth Douglas Hospital and they have newly partnered with NICU centers at Maine Medical and Mass General Brigham.
Cinco’s Cantina is recognized for its deep commitment to giving back. Since its inception, the restaurant has donated over $60,000 to local causes through a combination of community involvement, fiesta fundraisers, and sponsorships. Whether supporting youth sports teams, local initiatives, or grassroots efforts, Cinco’s remains dedicated to serving the communities that support it. To learn more visit: www.cincoscantina.com
