Lunch at the Conservatory with Jeffrey Augustine Songco
Lunch and Learn is a collaborative, casual talk with exhibiting artist Jeffrey Augustine Songco. Grab a bite to eat and learn more about Songco’s art-making process while we collectively explore his installation, Society of 23’s Conservatory. Michigan-based artist Jeffrey Augustine Songco celebrates his personal journey within American popular culture by examining the living symbols and objects that bring meaning to his narratives. Society of 23’s Conservatory is an immersive, site-specific installation that combines photography, video, and sculpture in a multisensory experience. Songco captures the look and feel of a conservatory meets greenhouse during the sun-drenched days of summer, as he invites visitors to explore themes such as friendship, perfection, non-native, and exoticism. Themed beverages will be made by H4 (Health’s Angels), a peer education group committed to raising awareness on a myriad of health issues that impact not just our community but the world.
