Join local and regional artists and craftsmen together at the brand new 2016 event!
(Exeter) – Join the family fun at the Lincoln Street Arts Festival on Saturday, October 22nd, from 10 am - 7 pm (rain or shine) on Lincoln Street in Exeter, NH. This year's inaugural event is a partnership of the Exeter Area Chamber of Commerce, the Town of Exeter, and the local business in the Lincoln Street area.
This brand new event will focus on showcasing arts and crafts, connecting artists with the art-buying community, and promote a commitment to the arts through a variety of art experiences. In addition to featuring a wide variety of amazing artists, the Lincoln Street Arts Festival will also include a community art swap, and entertainment from local artists including musicians and dancers throughout the day.
Start you day off by shopping the Exeter PTO’s Pre-Owned Sports Equipment Sale from 9 am – 3pm in from of the Lincoln Street School. Your chance to pick up a great deal while benefiting the Lincoln Street and Main Street Schools.
Stroll over to the vendor area which will feature a variety of arts and crafts, from local artists. While there, stop by the stage for entertainment from local dance and music groups, including Musical Arts Academy, Diamond Dance Academy, and Dance Innovations Dance Center.
If you’re looking for some fun activities, enjoy a FREE ride on the barrel train from 11:00 am – 3PM. If want the “real deal”, the Downeaster Amtrak train will be available at the Exeter Train Station from 9:45 AM – Noon. This is an once-in-a-lifetime chance for you to come aboard a real train!
All day events feature an “Art Swap” tent which is a pop up consignment tent for residents to buy and sell art including paintings, pottery and other fine art. You may also enjoy pumpkin bowling, tours of the St. Vincent De Paul Community Assistance Center, quilting and other demonstrations at Pintuck & Purl. Arjay’s will have a special $5 bucket sale where everything you can fit into the bucket, excluding sale items, will be discounted 20%. Pet Pantry, 3 Brothers, Lexie’s and other merchants on Lincoln Street will be offering specials.
The Town of Exeter will present “Complete Streets” demonstrations, with new crosswalks, bump-outs and a “parklett”. Bike safety checks will be offered by Wheel Power at the train station. Guided bike tours at 11 Am, 1 PM and 3 PM, will take off from the train station and proceed downtown to demonstration the proposed bike path.
End your day with an evening dinner from 5:00 - 7:00 pm under the big tent, featuring a three-course dinner provided by 3 Brothers Marketplace, Lexie's Test Kitchen and Epoch Restaurant. A silent auctions will take place during the meal. Dinner tickets are $15 pp and can be purchased at the Chamber office located at 24 Front Street.
This event is presented by the Exeter Area Chamber of Commerce, and the Town of Exeter.
