4th Annual Family Winter Festival
Post-holiday blues? The Friends of the East Kingston Public Library’s Family Winter Fest will get you back into the swing of things! Join us on Sunday, January 31st, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at the East Kingston Library, 47 Maplevale Road, East Kingston, NH for an afternoon of winter activities and live music.
Ellen Carlson and Jim Prendergast will present an array of musical styles in a upbeat program of fiddling and strumming. Performing on fiddle for over 35 years, Ellen has studied numerous styles, such as bluegrass, Irish, old-time, country, swing, Canadian and others. She is also the leader of the NH Fiddle Ensemble. Jim, an accomplished guitarist and mandolin player, is a Nashville transplant who has recorded with some of the best musicians in the city.
Kids activities will include crafts, face painting and hay rides. Hay rides start at 2:00 pm and then every 1/2 hour. Last one will be3:30 pm. Bring a hat, scarf, items for face, etc. to create your amazing snow man for the snow man competition (weather permitting!). Toast some marshmallows on the fire pit (weather permitting) and warm up with a cup of hot chocolate or hot cider.
The event is free and everyone is welcome. Help us make this 4th annual event another huge success.
