Camp Lincoln's Paddle Plunge Event Set to Send Kids to Camp

The Paddle Plunge raises funds to send children to camp who otherwise couldn't afford it. The annual Paddle Plunge event benefits the Southern District YMCA Annual Campaign. The Annual Fund supports scholarships for campers, school age child care, and wellness so no one is ever turned away for an inability to pay. Here's how you can help:

1) Create your team, choose a costume and jump in the lake. Prizes are awarded for the best costume and to the team that raises the most money. The minimum suggested donation per team is $500.
2) Donate to an existing team. If you don't want to jump in the lake but still want to contribute, pick a team to support and donate easily online.
3) Participate in the virtual plunge. For more information about our new virtual option, contact kristina@ymcacamplincoln.org.
4) Spread the word. Tell your friends and family and share this event on your social media.
5) Come cheer on the teams and donate!

This year's event is sponsored by Lexie's Burger Bus! Everyone who jumps in the lake will receive a free Lexie's burger. If you're not jumping in, food will be available for purchase.

Wondering why you should participate in this important cause? Please listen to our Camp Director share just one story of how your donation will change a child's life. You can donate here.

Exeter YMCA Highlights

Stronger Than Before: A Note From Michele
Dear SDYMCA Members,

It has been one year since the Pandemic started. I’ve continued my work outs at home like a lot of you, but I am ready to return to our amazing YMCA and teach what I love most -- fitness! It’s a great way to connect and help others. I hope you can join me for my first class back on April 10 at 7:00AM for Cycle. We are coming back stronger than before.
-- Michele

We are so excited to welcome Michele back to in person teaching! Stay tuned as we continue to add more classes and re-introduce our valued group exercise instructors.

Calling All Pickleball Players!

The Exeter Area Y is looking for new Pickleball players! Pickleball is a paddleball sport (similar to a racquet sport) that combines elements of badminton, table tennis, and tennis. Two or four players use solid paddles to hit a perforated polymer ball (much like a whiffle ball) over a net. For more information about how to play and get involved in the sport of Pickleball, click HERE.

A Beginner's Level session will be available to for up to eight players to reserve in Mindbody Monday - Friday from 10:00-11:00AM. For more information about scheduling contact membership@sdymca.org.

Weekly Wildcard Workout and NEW Class

We are excited to introduce you to our new Weekly Wildcard Workout schedule! You will find new pop-up classes every month. Come join the fun in April.

We are also excited to bring you our new Intro to Dance Fitness with Gemma. This will be a half hour class on Thursdays from 6-6:30PM. It's perfect for beginners looking to dance their way to their fitness goal.

Let's Get Social!

Please be sure to follow our NEW re-branded Facebook page. We are excited to share content that will feature updates on the facility, Camp Lincoln and School Age Child Care programs. If you are a member, you can request access to our YMCA Members Only page. Please also be sure to follow along on our YMCA Camp Lincoln Facebook page. We are excited to get social with you!

We heard you! Our hours will expand as follows:

Friday: 6:00AM - 6:00PM
Saturday: 7:00AM - 2:00PM

Two Individual Cardio Rooms Available In Wellness Center

The room formerly known as the Mind Body Studio is now available for reservation, along with the former Cycle Studio for one person or members of the same household. These rooms are for members who are unable to exercise with a mask, especially due to a sensitive medical condition.

We ask that members only reserve one time block one time per day. See our reservation schedule here. Please be sure to book your space before arriving to the Y.

Thank you to members not utilizing these rooms for complying with our 100% Mask Mandate. We appreciate you!

Spring Reset

Y staff are working hard behind the scenes to rejuvenate the YMCA this springtime. We are evaluating how and when to bring back many of our amenities including Childwatch & Kids Club, family activities, outdoor group exercise class options, as well as review the mask and reservation policies, group exercise schedule, and program offerings. We have expanded our operating hours. Please stay tuned for our Springtime Plan to launch. If you have feedback for us to consider, please send an email to kimberly@sdymca.org.

Child Care Program Updates

Hello School's Out Families,

As some of you may have heard, the governor declared this week that all NH schools will need to return to full in-person learning by April 19th. This is obviously earlier than the planned return of May 3rd that SAU 16 had put in place. We at the SDYMCA are keeping in touch with the schools and are working hard behind the scenes to determine how we can best support families once all school districts have finalized their reopening plans. Once we know more information about what programs we'll be able to offer, I will reach back out.

Thank you and be well,
Topher Bishop,
Director of Child Care Services

SACC Program Fun

For those who celebrate, we wish you a very Happy Easter Sunday!

Our Brentwood friends enjoyed a spirited egg hunt this week in the courtyard. It's easy to see the smile behind the masks and we are so grateful for all of our School Age Child Care sites. We will keep you posted as we continue to work with our school districts and community partners to ensure we are serving as many towns as possible.

Before and After School and Full Day Offerings

As a reminder, all new registrations for our 2020-2021 School's Out Programs for the upcoming program week must be completed by Thursday at noon the week prior. Click here for program offerings and to register. Our School’s Out programs are focusing on teaching sustainability this month. Sustainability can take many forms, but the ultimate goal is the reduction of waste and ensuring resources are available for future generations. Register your child today!
