Laurel Bistany, President of the Regional Economic Development Center (REDC), Laurel Bistany is the President of REDC, a non-profit economic development agency and alternative lender serving Southern NH, will be providing an overview of the tools and guidelines used in planning a regional economic forecast. Ms. Bistany earned her Certified Economic Developer Certification (CEcD) through the IEDC and has spent more than a decade studying the fields of economic and business development through various national and state programs. Ms. Bistany sits on the Boards of the New Hampshire Alliance of Regional Development Corporations and the NH Economic Development Association (NHEDA). She holds degrees in Business Administration from NH College, and Government and Environmental Studies from Harvard University. In additional she sits on several advisory committees dedicated to economic development, Brownfield’s cleanup, and workforce housing.
Steve Norton, Executive Director of the New Hampshire Center for Public Policy Studies, will offer insights into New Hampshire's economic forecast for 2016. In addition to his many speaking engagements and research projects, he has also served as an adjunct professor at the University of New Hampshire. Prior to joining the Center in 2005, Steve worked for the New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services, most recently as the State’s Medicaid director. Between 1990 and 1998, Steve worked as a Research Associate at the Urban Institute in Washington DC where he conducted health services research.
